GRAND MANAN, N.B.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15/11
Posted by: GRANDMANAN, 10:49 AM GMT on June 15, 2011 +2

Weather remains consistant, poor, wind northerly 20-25KPH, rain, temp 9C. Some indication weather to improve with clearing and higher temps by this afternoon, and sun for a couple of days before returning to wet for the weekend.

Return of the GRAND MANAN V has encountered a 'glitch', she was supposed to be out of drydock today, sea trials then head for the Bay of Fundy. Late yesterday learned the time table on hold for how long no word only that not expected to be for lengthy period, all depends on a definition of 'lengthy' I suppose.

Rob has an exam this morning, Emily standing down till final tomorrow. She has a job interview at Boys&Girls Club this afternoon for summer employment.

Emily will love working at the Boys and Girls club. She has had such great experience with kids. I am sure she will get the job. Sorry about your new ferry and the glitch. I am sure they will try to get it fixed as quickly as possible.

The good news from here is we finally got some rain. Not much just ,20 inches. That is like liquid gold. Looks like I won't have to plant cactus in my front yard after all.

Ya, first!

That's bad news about te ferry. Hopefully the Adventure will be there soon.
There's more moisture in the long range forecast, not good news for the farm community and the businesses in the towns that supy the farmers with needed supplies.
Enjoy your day.

Dear Rob:

If you got sun I hope you enjoyed it! We were freezing here all day. Had a tea-ting (tea/meeting) with neighbour for event we are holding and had to turn on the heat in the diningroom so she wouldn't freeze to death.

The greenhouse remains toasty at 21 degrees, so the pots are staying in there. Patio tomatoe in greenhouse is now about 5 feet tall and starting to produce. One outside needs mittons. Arg.

Everyone here laughed at me when I assured them the ferry would not be back in service on the 11th - (wishful thinking on their behalf). I wish I had been wrong, however, it just never seems to pan out that this stuff will go according to Hoyle.

Isn't it funny that OGal is praying for rain, and thus no cacti, and the rest of us are praying it will stop for a bit. The prays must be getting mixed up by God.

Well, I have nothing good to say except I hope you made the best of your day - cold and all.

Later. Word.
