A nice looking morning underway, calm, temp -6 expected to rise on the plus side, a bright red sun coming up behind Ross Island. Plus temps for the next few days, will settle the mounds of snow.

No horror stories have emerged from the snow fall. A few folks living off the beaten track stranded for a little while more than they would like, but crews getting to them. A dump in the 40cm range for us, combined with what was already down makes for a lot of snow.

Kids getting back into school today, after almost a week off, and three snow days the contributing factor.

Boats will be on the water today, after literally digging the boats out yesterday. The wind and swell will have gone down, other than a little cool expect a good day on the water.

Dear Rob:

It is so stinking nice here today I have put the blinders on and am not looking at anything that has to be done. Snowshoing here I come. I think I need sun block. woot!

Yesterday afternoon was same. Had to shed layers as sculpting commenced. The rabbit is nearly complete. Upon son's return from the University and spying said sculpture his comment was : 'Mom, you CLEARLY need something to do in the afternoons". Meanwhile, he thought it was 'cool'. I was praying neighbours did not see me - they already think I am batty enough. WOOT

Someone suggested we may have a sprinkle of snow for Sunday, which is also okay as it is Super Bowl Sunday, thus I will be doing something whilst the game is on here - no doubt snowshoeing once again. I will be in great shape, or dead.

Well, I am out of here. Have an awesome weekend.

Word. Chunks.

p.s. I think you got the most snow this time. We got between 30-35 and drifting in to 50. I LOVE SHOVELLING. NOT!!

Mornin CHUNKS, glad to learn you have something to work with to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. Sounds as if the temp might allow you to keep the sculpture together with plus temps over the next couple of days.
Snow is piled everywhere possible, however things getting back to what passes for normal in our part of the world. Traffic moving about, the road crew, as usual have the roads bare with no icy patches that I have found.
The shoveling that I thought had to be done was taken care of by Mother Nature, the snow did not blow in, and where it did not an extra shovel full had been moved. I don't believe authoritarian was a concern, more like boredom, and impending Report Card, best not to poke the bear too early.
Enjoy the weekend.

40 cm?? time to pull out the x-country skiis and go old school for a while! we finally got some snow in Ottawa, a measly 15 cm tho. At least we can cross-country on something other than frozen hay .. ;-)
