Another thunderstorm this morning, lots of rain, now calm, fog, barely see the shoreline, a temp of 14C. Longrange forecast remains consistant with no relief from the showers or rain till Thursday.

Our friends to the south celebrating thier Independance this weekend. Not likley the fireworks from across the Channel will be visible tonight.

The thunderstorms we had yesterday took our power out for an hour or so before they started the local diesel generating plant. The thunder was pretty good here, even more so on the mainland. No great amount of damage resulted from the washouts, however if it had kept up for any length of time the potential for damage certainly there. The ground is not capable of accepting anymore rain, it just makes it way to the Bay as quickly as possible.

Emily has not made contact this week, must assume she is making out alright with her new found friends. Would be good to confirm such is the case.

Dear Rob - AND ALL FRIENDS FROM UNITED STATES

Have a great 4th of July people! Hope everyone can put at least ONE memorable event in their journals tonight to be remembered for all times. Make a huge effort on that!

Anyway - as you say Rob, the thunder storms have been terrific. Yesterday had to forget the pass and go the long way around to the barn. Hugo Boss is growing so big we can't even imagine how large he is going to end up being. He is such a great foal and loves people. When we go out to the pasture he can't wait to come and play. Lily - last year's foal - is a bit jealous. oh well, we take extra carrots for her.

Today is the beginning of Rugby season so we are preparing to go. Pray for no injuries.

Don't worry about Emily - I know you are - but my Sarah was the exact same way. She was so busy making new friends, learning, and having fun, that she completely forgot about us. Sad in one way, but makes an independent kid the other way. This is where the Darn cell phone does come in handy. Hang in. She will call this weekend - probably Sunday - for the obligary 'I'm okay, it's all great, gotta go!'

Have a Good One. Word. Chunks

Good morning, Rob,

Your comment about Emily reminds me of a certain trip to camp I made. I wrote home faithfully, but never mailed the danged letters. I arrived home with them safely in my suitcase. My folks didn't know quite what to make of that and, to be quite frank, neither did I. We still laugh about it.

Since freedom doesn't belong to just one nation, I'll send this along for you, too ;-)
