Very cold this morning, -20C, sea smoke in the harbour so thick can just see the tops of the trees on Ross Island, lots of ice formed overnight. Fortunate no wind, a slight draft from NW. A respit tomorrow with some southerly coming our way then seasonal weather.

Rob out overnight, Emily had a babysitting gig, her Ipod give it up so will be working to replace that. Of course her grandmother has lent her some cash sort of bridge financing I suppose.

Planned on going in the woods this morning, almost too cold, but as mentioned can't let too much more time get away or will not get it done, a bit of a dilema.

Dear Rob:

We had sea smoke in Saint John today as well.
Beautiful! Heat wave today @ -25 ... warmed up to -17 so barbecued ribs. Last night when kids left to go home it was -33.4. Took a picture of the thermometer, but can't figure out how to load on to darn computer yet. OH WELL.

Tonight is Salsa Dancing Barn Dance. Will have to really latin it up to stay warm. Hopefully, some latin drinks will help with that.

Good luck with wood. I smell snow coming in next couple of days. Fresh powder for skiing on Sunday.

Wow that is cold.

Good morning Rob,

Good luck on your trip to the woods this morning.. I just don't think I could do that... and I'll bet the sea smoke is beautiful.

We are "cool" down here, not too bad..nothing like the rest of the country.

Have a great weekend!

We're losing our chance for sea smoke here - a handful of weeks and it just won't happen. My theory is, if it's going to be cold, we at least should get to enjoy some of the effects.

Take a look at BeachFoxx's blog - she's in Florida, and just posted photos of ice on the bayou. Good gosh!
