A gorgeous autumn day was on tap today. Close to 80 for the high, endless sunshine and a blue sky that was stunning!
These days are rare...only come like this in the fall and today was a wonderful demonstration of it.

Rain later this weekend. But nice rain. Thunder and lightening and steady rain.

101-103 here today. :( I'm making popsicles for doggies, spraying off horses, filling bird baths and outside water pans 4 times a day and worrying constantly about animals. They're suffering so much in this heat and I can't bring them all into the a/c. icon_sad.gifThe cats on the farm have virtually disappeared into the coolest places they can find during the day...they're holed up in whatever shade they can find and they don't come out. A beautiful sunny day. Highs in the upper 50's and then up to the mid 60's late in the afternoon. A delight after the cold of yesterday after the storms the night before. The robins are busy eating in the cool wet grass, with the slight rain we had last night, they were happy diners. Our cat missed one particularly fat one, after stalking it for quite awhile. Thank goodness.Gorgeous day. Typical Missouri beauty. No humidity. Loved it.

Here we go. Another day of chance melting after the snowpocolypse! Yesterday netted some really fine melting, it saw our snow down by a 1/3. Not so much today...it won't get quite that warm. Our next snow/blizzard is on it's way...it'll be here starting tomorrow sometime and go thru Wednesday evening. I hope we get 2 inches. We're likely to get 8! But we'll live.I miss the birds, I miss the leaves, I miss the grass and I miss the flowers. Hurry spring!!

Air temperature not so bad really, but the heat index has been stifling. 90's and 100+ heat index do not agree with me.We've been having enough pop up storms and heavy rains accompanying them to keep things very green yet. :) Good pasture, good hay....makes farmers happy. The flowers are still thick, not many cornflowers this year though. :(The Queen Anne's lace is amazingly tall and full headed this year. Would make Queen Anne proud. lolAnimals are doing well...thr...
