Hey! It's been a whole year since I updated, wow. I forgot about this site for a long time, sorry. :(

Anyways this year WAS pathetic until late August and now we got 4 more storms in 2 weeks!

Summary of what happened to so far -

Alex : Category 2 that made landfall in north Mexico near the Mexican/Texas border. Moderate damage.

Bonnie : Weak storm with max winds of 40 mph. Made landfall in north Florida. Hardly any damage

Colin : Weak storm with max winds of 60 mph. No landfall. Dissipated in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Danielle : Powerful Category 4 hurricane that thankfully did not affect land in any way except for rough surfs. Became extratropical on August 31st.

Now on to the 3 current storms.

Earl : This is the one that needs to be watched right now. It's a category 3 with winds of 115 miles per hour and is just off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Landfall is not expected but it will be close enough to have significant impacts. Not only the Outer Banks need to pay attention but most of the East Coast from North Carolina all the way up to even Nova Scotia. Good news is it's starting to move to the northeast but that doesn't guarentee anything. And it's not letting me post a satellite image. :( Oh well.

Fiona : Fiona is getting ripped apart by the outflow of Hurricane Earl and shouldn't be much of a problem. However, a tropical storm warning is in effect for Bermuda. I think all you'll get is some showers and moderate winds though.

Gaston : Gaston WAS going to become the next big thing after Earl but now has pretty much dissipated. However I sense Gaston re-developing tomorrow or so. This storm's not over yet. And it's got plenty of warm waters ahead of it (it's halfway between Africa and the islands) so I'd keep an eye on this.

Also there's a vigorous tropical wave behind Gaston that might as well become Hermine. However as of now the NHC is only giving it a 10% chance of development but I think it will develop.

I'll probably update again tomorrow.

Minimal damage.Hurricane Bill formed August 14 and made it to CATEGORY 4 status. It was supposed to directly come to NYC/NJ, but made a near miss. The most NYC/NJ got was really big waves and extreme outer bands. As of right now, nothing in the Atlantic.

The Atlantic is very quiet right now. There are weak tropical waves that cannot develop due to very strong wind shear of around 40kt.However, the Eastern Pacific is a different story...We have Tropical Depression 2E, which is forecasted to become a strong tropical storm before running along the Mexican coast, then weakening and heading out to sea, which the models are agreeing with. For some reason, I can't post a picture of TD#2e on here... weird.Sorry guys.
