Rodeo weekend rain?
Posted by: Dyan, 3:08 PM GMT on May 23, 2012 +1
The big event of the year in Potter Valley - the Spring Festival and Rodeo over Memorial Day Weekend. 3 days of parade, junior rodeo, Pro rodeo, gymkhana, lawn mower races, axe throwing contest, BBQ, Starlight Dance, ... oh and the church ladies selling yummy pies! And of course, there is a chance of rain in the forecast! We've had a rain on the parade several times over the last few years - hoping for perfect, not-too-hot and not-too-wet weather this weekend.

May flowers ... and hay
Posted by: Dyan, 2:00 PM GMT on May 10, 2012 +1
Lovely weather, getting warm into the upper 80s in the afternoon, is bringing on the hay crop. Looks like it might be a good year! Much needed after 2011's late rains delayed the hay and then it was not so good. Haven't seen anyone cutting yet here in Potter Valley, but must be getting close. It was also a fairly easy Frost season for the grape growers - a few days of frost protection but now past it.

Lots of birds nesting - time to plant veggies!
