On April 30, 2014, the first ever National Day of Action will take place here in the States. This is a day to train and teach millions of Americans how to prepare for disasters and how to respond when a disaster strikes.

From the FEMA website:

America's PrepareAthon! is an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and communities to prepare for specific hazards through drills, group discussions, and exercises.

The first National Day of Action is scheduled for April 30, 2014 and will revolve around taking the actions to prepare for these four specific hazards: tornadoes, wildfires, hurricanes, and floods.

The ironic part of this is that we be in the midst of a disaster scenario i.e. a tornadic outbreak with potential for flooding.

See FEMA link for more info: America's Prepare-athon!
