a little rain

We got .39" today but I think we will have to call a water truck as the catchment tank is going down fast. Everything is yellow.This will be my last blog from Hawaii for two months as I am heading south again to the land of the long white cloud. NEw ZEaland. I will try to post from there but do not have a laptop or access to a computer as we are in the bush. See my pics for a few shots from last time down to our land.Aloha and Ke KiteDonnied

crispy

The weeds and some small plants are beginning to get crispy yellow. The water trucks are on the road all day now here in HPP. Not too voggy today for a change. It has been pretty bad. Yesterday morning going through Pahoa on the way to Pohoiki it looked like fog. Clear outside tonight with all the stars showing up. I do like a clear night as it is not the norm in the Puna. If we were not on catchment it wouldn't be so worrisome not to have rain.

Here in the Puna district near Pahoa we got around 11" ending yesterday and still raining. My son up in Hanalei on Kauai got over 20"

record rainfall yesterday in Hilo. 10.82" Mayor Harry Kim declares emergency.Here at my house we had 6.02" yesterday and 4.57" so far as of 4:40pm Sundayand it is STILL raining. We have had rain for almost 2 weeks off and on. but this is normal for here.
