The 1919 Boston Molasses Flood

By: DonnieBwkGA, 6:35 PM GMT on June 29, 2013

It's a blob! 2,300,000 gallons of molasses in a 30 foot wave tearing up a neighborhood! Nothing can stop it! I read this book recently and saw an article about it here.

The New York Times article about the Molasses Flood. Note that the final death toll was 21 not 12.

Now that's what I call a sticky situation! I can only imagine what it would have been like in Savannah or New Orleans in August. All the ants!

The weather may have played a factor. It was only 2 degrees that morning but it had warmed up to 41 that afternoon. Thermal expansion?

Sup y'all?

I've used this site for a long time. Especially for the radars. Thought I would join in and see what the blogs are like.
