DECENT WEATHER TODAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND
Today will be sunny and mild, with highs in the Denver area ranging from 55 to 60 degrees. Tonight's low will be around 30, with highs tomorrow again in the mid to upper 50s before a weak cold front moves through. Sunday will be cooler but still sunny with highs in the upper 40s. There is a slight chance of snow Monday and Tuesday, but it doesn't look like anything big. By Thanksgiving Day, Denver should again have sunshine and highs in the 50s.

COLD MONDAY MORNING
Under clear skies with fresh snow on the ground, temperatures Monday morning dropped to the lowest we've had this month. At Denver International Airport (where south winds held the temperature up a little), the low was 16. In our neighborhood in Thornton, where the wind stayed calm, the low was 12. An air quality monitor in Arvada reached a low of 6 degrees. Closer to downtown, the new site in City Park had a low of 18, while the low at 21st and Broadway downtown was 21. To our north along the South Platte River, temperatures really tumbled. Greeley dropped to 2 below zero.

WEEKEND SNOW NOVEMBER 14-15
At our house in Thornton, our final snow total on the deck Sunday was 6.6". The "official" total at Denver International Airport was 7.3". Some parts of the Denver metro closer to the foothills had 9-10", while foothill locations generally picked up about a foot. The heaviest totals were 14" measured 3 miles south of Evergreen, and 13.7" at Genesee along I-70. While this was a respectable storm which gave us good moisture, it was nothing like the October 28-29 storm which dropped up to 2 feet in town and over 3 feet in some foothill areas.

Our flight back from Philadelphia was uneventful and on time landing at Denver International Airport...even a bit early! We're home now with a nice fire going in the wood stove. However, the snow has started and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Front Range urban corridor tonight and Sunday. Denver is forecast to pick up 6-12" of snow. I'll keep everyone posted as the storm progresses...

Hi all!I'm in New Jersey this week visiting family. While the nor'easter hasn't affected us too much up here near Philadelphia, it's been a different story down at the shore. Ocean City and Wildwood, NJ have flooding this morning, and the flooding will continue through the next couple of high tide cycles. Of course, the worst flooding and beach erosion has been farther south, especially in the Virginia Beach and Nags Head, NC areas. Dr. M's blog has all the details....

After Denver's second coldest October on record, we have had a sudden change to record heat in the first week of November. On Thursday, the high reached 77 degrees at Denver International Airport, breaking the old record for November 5 of 76, set in 1916 and tied in 1945. In Thornton and in downtown Denver, temperatures soared to 80. The heat will be on again today with highs forecast in the upper 70s. Today's record is 79 set in 1934, which will be a bit harder to ...

RECORD NUMBER OF TRICK-OR-TREATERS AT OUR PLACE LAST NIGHTDespite some snow still on the ground, temperatures warmed to about 60 in our neighborhood late Saturday afternoon. During the evening, temperatures were still moderate, holding in the low 50s. To our surprise, we had a record turnout with 75 kids stopping by to trick-or-treat. My wife bought three big bags of candy and we gave most of it out. A good time was had by all!!**********CHINOOK WIND TAKES OVER AND ...
