I finally moved my weather station and it seems to be operational again. In fact, it seems to work better than ever. There was a free upgrade to the Weather Capture software from Honeywell (actually Hideki) to Weather Capture Advance 2009. The software is very buggy but I managed to get it to work. New features include better support for file creation. I hear Weather View 32 now works with the TE831. I'm still using WUHU and like it a lot. You just need to tell it to use the TE923W setting.

The Weather Channel app is nice but not accurate for my area. I really wish there was a Weather Underground iPhone app that allowed me to easily check my PWS stats. I'd pay $5 for it. I know I can launch the browser and go to my weather station page but it's not the same. In the scheme of things I guess it's no big deal but it's on my wish list.

My Honeywell weather station is down. It's actually working except the software isn't reading the stats anymore. I'm planning to move it to a laptop for lower power consumption so I guess this will be my incentive to actually do it. Hopefully I'll be up soon.

We've had a lot of rain this month. In fact we just got over flooding issues this past week. But I check the monthly total rainfall for my area (Weather Channel) and they're showing only 1.57 inches the entire month. I bet we had that in one rain storm this week. My own weather station that's been offline for a week or so this month has recorded over 4 inches of rain, confirmed by my analog rain gauge backup. Come on Weather Channel, get with it! I think your gauge ...

I am so happy to see the sun today. It's been rainy for a week. The NWS says we've had less than two inches of rain the whole month but I can't see how that is true. Every once in a while when there is obvious ground saturation we get brown water coming out of our spigots. Hopefully it clears up in a few days but now I need to figure out how to disinfect the system and of course we can't use the water until we do that. You never realize how much you use water until ...
