While the name of "Leia" may conjure up desert visions of Tatooine with its twin suns for some, our resident Leia here at wunderground shares the beauty of deserts here on Earth, and in a most regal way.

Please allow me to share two desert dreams with you.

First photo showcased is Leia's "Dry Lake Bed in Storm." As a thumbnail, it reminds me either of a Martian desert only with Earth tones, or else a textbook picture you might find for a 5th grade Social Studies class. Viewing the larger version grants you the freedom of wide horizons on a grand scale. Since I really happened to enjoy 5th grade Social Studies, thank you very much, this desert scene reminds me of the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. My imagination fills in the round off-white canvas yurt tents, with nomads sipping steaming tea around a campfire as camels rest in the background.

Second photo showcased is Leia's "Rainbow Basin." This breathtakingly crisp vista dares you to run straight through the center to the faraway ridge, there to stand and touch the clouds, or leap up into them like an eagle, echoing an ascent from symphony of stone to symphony of sky, where the blue air deepens the rarer it becomes.
