Feels like winter...almost
Wow, is it Winter? Areas just west and north of Boston expereinced a coating of snow last night into this morning. Early this morning, there were even a few slushy flakes landing among the raindrops on my windshield here in Roslindale. Widespread temps in the 30's, even along the coast, rudely greeted early morning commuters.
Yet, it is not quite winter yet. We are barely halfway through October. Here in the Boston area, the foliage is just now approaching peak. Water temps off the coast are still in the 50's. But the biggest indicator of our still autumnal status is that one Nor'easter just passed us by and another is on the way, and there is virtually no chance of my area picking up any significant snow, and I am ok with that. 0'fers in the Nor'easter dep't drive me nuts in the winter, but in the fall I can just sit back, relax, and hope that once the real winter arrives, the Nor'easters keep on comin', and I am in the jackpot! Here is to a winter full of just outside the benchmark low tracks!
