HIGH POTENTIAL FOR 91L TO BE SEASON'S FIRST NAMED STORM
Over the past few days, a cold front traveled across Southern United States. Computer models at that time predicted the front to enter Carolinas and to slide off the area into Atlantic Ocean while producing a frontal boundary low, which it just did just that yesterday. Also what happened yesterday was a huge burst of thunderstorm convection along the coast of North Carolina. As result, th...

UPDATE 2 (10:35 PM EDT 5/24/14):
Well, that escalated quickly. Since the last update 24 hours ago, Amanda went from young 60 mph tropical storm to rapidly intensifying Category 3 major hurricane with National Hurricane Center estimated max wind speed of 115 mph. NHC still got this storm at 50% chance...

Hey, y'all! I hope the year of 2014 is off to a wonderful start for y'all. Well, we're now in the month of May which mean the traditional start of 2014 Atlantic hurricane season on June 1st is quickly approaching. The month of May is also the best time to release a yearly hurricane season forecast as well. I know some bloggers on Weather Underground like to release their forecast a little earlier on March or April, but I prefer to...

INTRODUCTION TO A WHOLE NEW THEME
Hey, y'all! I hope y'all are having a great winter even though it was a cold one for most of us in Eastern USA. I've been incredibly busy this semester with schoolwork as well as commitment to few activities I do here at UNCA. However, North Carolina also received a lot of wintry weather thanks to numerous of cold air damming events. Since I'm very active on Twitter, there were many times that I tweeted about ...
