My neighbors just had a lot of trees that bordered our properties chopped down. I am so bummed. Entire trees, large branches. I used to have a beautiful leafy view out the right side of our house, and now it's road. Why do people do this? I can see trimming the trees near their house to get more light in the house. But why the trees in the back of their property near my house? They were healthy trees. *sigh*

Oh well. Just wanted to share, because I can't really say anything locally - although I'm sure there are others who will wonder why on earth they destroyed their beautiful land.

I can't say what their reason, but don't jump to conclusions that they did it just to cut them down. There could have been many reasons. Give it time to find out. I can't imagine someone cutting trees down to just cut them down.

Thanks, TRP. I'm doing my best to understand and not judge. They're good people, and I can't imagine it either. I'm probably going to have to ask, but I need to calm down first so I do it in a friendly way.

Healthy rain here tonight with 0.39in

I guess that first drop or so is pretty scary? Is that what they mean? I don't get season passes either. I used to, but with a pool, we just don't go that often. Maybe when my kids get old enough to go by themselves we may buy season passes. The park gives my kids a free ticket sent to their school. A nice gesture. So we go

I am not really sure. They both seem to like roller coasters, but they really did not say why they hated the new ride, lol.

Everyone has a personal preference. I guess you have to try it to find out what it is like. I can't do too many coasters anymore. They really jar your head around. Back in the late 80's I had a great time at Kings Dominion doing all their coasters, I think it was 11 of them at the time. I felt great. Now I do 2 at the park and I am done. I do like The Great Bear.

Latest models seem to have pushed Saturday's MCS a bit to our south here in Southern CT. Hoping for as dry an evening as is possible for camping, but still seems unlikely. If we don't go, I will have about 30 leftover cake pops to eat.

Had a very brief but heavy down-pour about 3PM today. Just enough rain to cancel my tennis round robin that was schedualed for late this afternoon. LT Stamford CT.

Hey Blizz can you tell me your thoughts on the forecast for Philly today? We're having my sister's college graduation party and everyone keeps seeing storms in the forecast and I tell them we'll just have to contend with quick summertime thunderstorms but even that isn't going over well. I'm ~6 miles east of Philly in NJ.

Latest simulated radars are suggesting a band of thunderstorms to move through this evening across the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border. So I would definitely plan on something in the area; probably not too severe though.

Wow, what happened to the forecast for this week? Last night they had a forecast for Wednesday of rain during the day with potential of 0.6" of rain and rain in the evening with a potential of 2.6". Now there is nothing of it mentioned. I guess one of the models had it forecasted, but it is gone now. I hope it stays gone.

There will be localized areas of heavy rain with the embedded thunderstorms so some areas will probably see in excess of 1in of rain or more. Minor flooding is possible.

On Wednesday or do you think Tuesday? Now it seems like it will be Tuesday from the forecast.

I went to the park today....Boardwalk was crowded, but we spent most of the time in the rest of the park. There were NO lines for anything. I couldn't believe it. A beautiful day with temps in the upper 80's and no lines. GREAT. The only problem is SkyRush was not running. What a disappointment. If I came from out of town and paid that much money and SkyRush was not running I would be disappointed to say the least. Great Bear is still a great ride

My neighbors just recently went to the park and the coaster was shut down. It seems to be having many mechanical failures so far.

Showers and thunderstorms off an on all day tomorrow through Wednesday early afternoon; probably 1in or more of rain is possible. The rest of the week looks better although showers could linger into Thursday. Normal temperatures in the low 80s.

HPC and local NWS seem to be toning down our precip forecast, though still have 100% chance for tomorrow and mention of heavy rain. I'm hoping for at least an inch -- we're still fairly dry overall, and I'd like to see some more rain before the big summer heat kicks in.

Hey all! Just got home from four days on Cape Cod. Ahhhh. The weather there was perfect: 70's and sunshine, with just the right sea breeze. No lines there either, and no traffic issues whatsoever...because everyone is busy with graduation and the last few days of the school year. It was the last weekend when it's free to park at the beaches, too.

Thanks for all the nice Ally notes!! :-)

PhillySnow, I feel your pain about losing your green view and privacy. What if you plant a few trees or bushes on your side of the boundary, or a nice big lilac or small evergreen right outside that window?

Ah, nevermind...found the storm reports.

It's been raining here light to moderate rain all day long. so far 0.64" of rain

It looks like from the radar west of the PA mountains hasn't seen much rain. I do see a strong line moving east from western PA. I wonder if there will be any warnings from the front?

It has been hit or miss on guidance. Confidence is probably to low to introduce a threat of showers yet for next week. But I definitely would expect many marine layers over the next few days.

Since I posted my rain totals, a line of showers popped up, NE to SW right over my area and has moved very slowly. The precip. is light but it has added another 0.10" of rain. Thought I was done with it.

Blizz, looking at the Vis. satellite, looks like there is a Low forming a couple of hundred miles off the Delaware coast. Am I right? Looks like it threw back those showers and the cloud line that had been advancing Eastward.

That low is slowly moving away from the coast, but will allow for an easterly flow at times the next several nights.
