Dad.
I guess I didn't. Sorry about that.
I'm still working on that project. It
will probably be Monday or Tuesday before
I'm done with it. That will be about 4
days faster than the last one.
4 to 5 days is better than 8-9, which is
how long it took me last time.
It doesn't look like I'm going to get the
weatherstripping replaced on my tonneau
cover any time soon. Baker Automotive
has dropped the ball. It used to be the
Sentry Buick/GMC dealership. They still
are but Baker Motors bought them out.
They were supposed to order the weatherstrip
3 weeks ago. They emailed me two weeks ago to
tell me it still hadn't come in yet. I stopped
by there yesterday on the way home to see what
the holdup was. They don't know and told me
that, if I wanted to get it fixed, for me to
drive up to either a place in Summerville or
one in N. Charleston, buy the weatherstripping
myself and they'll install it.
That ain't gonna happen. that's why I went to
them in the first place: to get them to do it.
Their service has really declined since the buy
out by Baker Motors. Sentry had always bent
over backwards for me. Anything I wanted or
needed. yeah I had to pay for it but they
took good care of me and my truck.
I'll just go somewhere else and they'll lose
my custom. I'll try the Ford place next door
and see what they say.
reading this. I see that you haven't checked
in since Wednesday.
I got an email from "L" telling me that you've
had a couple of incidents this week. Popped
something in your back last weekend and then
fell Thursday morning.
She emailed me Thursday evening but only sent
it to my home mail. I hadn't turned on my
laptop at home all week, so didn't read it
until this morning. She usually sends mail to
both home and work.
I'd feel better if you'd start keeping that
walker handy, to help with your balance getting
in and out of bed and your chair. You don't
need any more falls, bumps on the head or bangs
on the arms/legs.
You take it easy. Love you.
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
~Irish Blessing
Wishing you a very happy Saint Patrick's Day :-)
I hope you have been managing better this
weekend.
It's sunny and warm here but I can't really
enjoy it because of all the pollen.
I'll be so glad when it is all finally blown
away.
We've got some rain in the forecast tomorrow
and that will help.
I spent some time yesterday watching Phoebe
and her chicks. They are growing so fast.
Now that they're bigger and more active,
they're more fun to watch.
You have a good Sunday!
Love you.
time and get it cleaned out and rearranged. We
did that this afternoon.
I was tired of climbing over everything to get
to my rakes, shovels, hoes, clippers, cat
carriers, etc, which were all along the back wall.
Last weekend I went in there to get the loppers
and caught a glimpse of something grey out
the corner of my eye. I couldn't tell if it was
a rat, mouse or something like a flying squirrel.
Hubby went out there the next day and got a
good look as it nipped out the door. It was
a big rat. Hubby picked up some rat poison and
put down in there the next day.
He's obviously been in there quite some time.
As we were moving and sorting things in there
today, we found droppings everywhere.
No body though. And we didn't spot any holes,
so I'm not sure how it was getting in there.
Hope it's gone.
We didn't really throw that much junk out. It
mostly just needed straightening up,
rearranging and swept out.
Over Hubby's protestations (Why do we have
to move the shelf and chest? What good is
that going to do?) , I insisted that
we moved the shelving unit and an old chest
of drawers to the back wall and all the yard
tools up front, just inside the door. I knew
it would give us more room to move around and
it sure does. Hubby was amazed.
Plus, we got all the dirt, leaves, little bits
of trash and rat dropping swept out.
Men ought to listen to their wives more often!
Aunt C has been on my mind this morning.
I figure she might be in her room by now, as she
went in at 5:30; surgery was to start at 6
or 6:30.
I have no idea how long hip replacement surgery
takes but they've been doing it for so long, it
has become routine and they've got the surgery
down pat.
We've got rain. YAY! It washes the pollen down
to the ground and out of the air.
Phoebe's babies are SO cute. they're napping
right now. Phoebe has taken up a perch
elsewhere in the rose bush. she can't sit on
the nest now. The kids are too big.
I got an email from Aunt C's daughter and she
told me that the surgery went fine. It didn't
take as long as they expected but that she
did remain longer in recovery. They were
having some issues with pain control.
they had her up yesterday afternoon. They
don't even give you the afternoon off after
surgery these days!
She emailed me yesterday evening but I didn't
get to reply until today.
They expect her to go home Thursday, if
everything goes as expected.
Don't panic. Wunderground has been doing
some tweaking of the web pages. They'll look
a little different.
they changed the 'Blog' tab to "community' tab
with 'all blogs' as a subset of that tab.
It shouldn't make that much difference. I'll
show you when I come up.
You should still be able to get to your blog
and mine without any trouble.
Phoebe's chicks are getting so big. They can
barely fit in the nest.
I haven't heard anything more about how Aunt C is doing. It might have been late when everyone got home.
I think I got sidetracked yesterday by
checking my home email to see if there
was word about Aunt C. There was and
I was replying to that. I guess I must
have thought I'd been by. I know I made
it to my own blog for a short 'hello.'
I'm finishing off the last container of
soup I made last month from the
christmas ham bone. It might be about
the last pot of soup I'll make; once the
weather really warms up, I'm not in the
mood for making posts of soup.
Best go check my email and see if I have
an update.
I got word that Aunt C is home and is
doing amazingly well after her hip
replacement surgery. Let's hope that
she continues to do so.
I got a good night's sleep last night
and feel much better today. In fact,
I feel much better than I've felt for
over a week. I'm still sneezy but the
throat isn't as raw feeling and I think
my nose isn't quite as runny, either.
I'm hoping that the worst of the pollen
season is about over. The rain we're
supposed to get today will help a lot.
Get all that pollen washed away.
Phoebe's chicks are really putting on a
good show right now. Very active and
doing a lot of wing exercising. Looking
around, picking aphids off the rose bush.
I expect by this time next weekend that
it's quite possible they'll have fledged.
Or be about ready to.
I'm trying to get some clothes washed
and on the line before the rain hits.
I might have to bring them in and let
them finish drying inside. The rest
of it will have to be hung up inside
or put on the folding clothes racks.
I might have to do some today and some
tomorrow.
Gas prices seem to be coming down a bit.
I got gas last weekend at Murphy's for 3.47
with my Walmart card. The stations on the
way to and from work have dropped to around
3.49 and 3.50.
My leave to come up next weekend has been
approved. They usually wait until about a
week ahead of time to give the official
'OK.' Just to wait and see what's going
on and if things are quiet enough to allow
people to take off.
I got your annual shareholder report this week.
I'll bring it up, when I come, rather than
trying to mail it. I opened it to see when
the voting deadline was. The annual meeting
isn't until April 26, so you've got plenty of
time to peruse the report and submit your
vote, if you choose to do so.
gotta go get the clothes!
rain splatters outside.
I do not know if you celebrate Palm Sunday, if you do:
Wishing you a Blessed Palm Sunday.
We are WET, WET, WET. Lots of heavy
rain and flooded yard.
I still have one load of clothes that
needs to be washed but they'll have
to be hung up inside.
I needed to run to Walmart today to
refill a prescription. If the rain
slacks off this afternoon, I'll go.
If not, I'll have to do it after work
one day this week. I hate going down
there after work; the afternoon commute
traffic is terrible.
Have you tried watching that Eaglecrest
webcam or the osprey webcam? I have
them set up in my recommended links on
my blog.
The osprey cam looks like it is just a
few feet away from the nest. Really
sharp and clear.
The Eaglecrest cam is like a collage of
several cams at once. They'll pick one
to enlarge, when there is some activity
going on. There's a red tailed hawk
nest with two eggs. The owl has 8
chicks. The owl cam is a bit hard to see
as the nest is inside a tree cavity.
The Canada goose has 8 eggs which should
hatch Easter weekend.
They have a 'pond' cam and I've seen a
Great Blue, mallards and some other
water birds.
They have a golden eagle nest cam but its
not up and running yet.
The Eaglecrest cam is in California. The
osprey cam is in NC.
I'm still watching the hummingbirds, too.
I was watching them yesterday. I didn't
get around to checking them this morning
but when I brought up the webcam just now,
they're GONE!
I thought it would be a few more days.
I think she might have one more clutch
before breeding season is over around the
end of May. She's got plenty of time yet.
I guess I'll be watching more of the
Eaglecrest cams and the osprey cam.
I'm not feeling good. I'm going to the
doctor this afternoon. It might be just
the allergies but I want to be sure.
I feel rotten today.
will keep you posted.
Love you.
Its just a sinus infection from all the
congestion from the pollen/allergy
issues.
My throat is really inflamed but it is
from all the drainage. No strep.
I'm not contagious, so my visit is still
on.
I've started a Z pack and he gave me something
for the cough. The cough is mostly from the
irritated throat.
I'll head in to work in the morning, as
usual. I need to be sure my desk is as
current as I can get it because everything
that comes in while I'm out will be waiting
for me when I get back.
One tonsil is still really sore but I've
only got one dose of worth of antibiotics
in me. It may take another day or two.
But, overall, I'm feeling much better.
It's a bit chilly here today. Sunny and nice
otherwise.
Going to get up in the mid 40's this week .. so should all be gone but a few drifts ..
Should be getting warmer now as the days get longer ..
Saw some Robins over a week ago so come on spring temps !!
See Bug is coming up to see you this week end ..
Feeling better again today. Still have a bit
of sore throat but better than yesterday.
hey, wab!
We saw our first robins about 3 weeks or so
ago. I see they're heading northwards, if wab
is seeing some. spring has to arrive for him
soon!
Looking forward to seeing you Friday!
The throat is still sore but I feel OK.
Got two more days of anti-B's to go.
I've got the osprey cam up and boy, is it windy
up there! You can see the nest on top of the
pole just swaying back and forth.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Will get there by lunchtime.
