Pieces

My heart is in shambles,
pieces to be correct.

One goes after my old love,
a shy, yet smart Asian girl.
Who didn't share my feelings.

One goes after a church friend.
The only reason I look forward
to attending church anymore.

One goes after a band mate.
Someone who's worked so hard
to bring my character out more.

Other pieces of my heart,
just look with care upon others:

One goes after another Asian,
I used to have a crush on her,
and yet she has remained a fine friend.

One goes after one more church friend,
she only seems to care for me
when I am hurting deeply.

One goes after a Latino friend,
old classmate from my MS years,
I try to say hi to her every chance.

My heart is in pieces,
shambles to be correct.

Nice little poem there, Brian, thanks.

Hi Astro, couldn't find Max's phone # , but like I said, I do have is address. So if we here or see nothing by Tuesday(no mail Monday anyway because of MLK Day), I'll send out a note to that address. Im just hoping his I-Pad or what ever he took down there, went dead, and that's the problem, and nothing more.

Thanks for the answer, Astro, --very strange!---- I actually have his home address in Norwalk, sent something by regular mail to him once. If he's not on here by the end of the weekend, I'm going to get his phone number and call his Mom/sister.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Yes I have.

For those who get this next part:

From Erin:

It was pretty good. I wouldn't say poetry is your strong point though. You don't relax enough for poetry. It was an interesting read though.

I wish I could better understand your feelings to evaluate how true they are. It sounds to me that you just have crushed that you're blowing out of proportion. No offense or anything.

Are you going to watch the Rose Bowl? My father is from Michigan, so my family HAS to watch it...and he still thinks of it as the National Title game.
No, I didn't watch the game, altho I understand your father's feelings. :). I'm not much of a football fan, probably as a result of following UMich football for years and having my heart broken repeatedly.

Hurray for your mom! Although I recognize autism is a real and serious problem, I think the label gets thrown around too easily to explain non-autism-related behaviors. I'm glad your mom had the courage to resist a facile answer.

Don't worry about being "normal". The rest of us are much more interesting.

I agree with the other "old" folks on this chain (sorry guys, just kidding). You are where you need to be at this point in your life. And it is a difficult point as you, as far as I can tell, are different from the "norm". Which right now is probably a bit uncomfortable. I believe people like you fnd the one maybe in their mid 20's ...give yourself time. My son is a sensitive soul like you and at 27 years of age I think he has finally me the one for him. Hang in there buddy ...good things come to those that wait!

My entire life has been uncomfortable. Do you know what an IEP is? Yeah...I had doctors that wanted to tell teachers I was "autistic" so they would know how to approach me. It was my mother who saved me from a horrible life in special Ed. Apparently, I'm not supposed to be as smart as I am.

I would appreciate it though if some part of my life would resemble a bit of "normal".

Yeah, like TA on his blog said, I'm not really expecting an El Nino. I think the Time article was jumping on the fact that current weather conditions around the world have been said to have a "feels like El Nino". Just, there hasn't been any changes over in the Pacific recently. So we wait. It shouldn't get here quick enough to ruin your winter, so you should be good.

Happy New Year, Astro! I hope it's very rewarding and satisfying for you.

One more endorsement to what Rob and originalLT said above. You have a big heart, and it is not supposed to be "orderly" at your age: it is reaching out and gaining understanding and experience just like your mind is. Sometimes the experiences will be confusing, sometimes they will hurt, but your heart will be stronger and your understanding will be deeper. And when the right one comes along .... you will appreciate her even more.
