I have seen many interesting photos with shadows and they intrigue me. They seem to add so much to an image. This one by TREKZEN inspired me to post this. Send me your interesting "shadow" images and I'll post them. Ann e

Yellowstone's Grand Prismatic Hot Springs has the most amazing colors!
Great to see the sunset tonight . . .
A fast moving, dry front comes through.
Tate is a small town in Pickens County, north Georgia, USA, known for its marble quarrying industry. This railroad depot is in pretty bad shape, with peeling paint and broken windows. But I think it is actively being used because the window air conditioning unit was operating. The building still has a lot of charm, so, hopefully, the local historical society will recognize its value and start restoring it soon.
Livingston Montana is the gateway to Yellowstone. It is the original entry to the park. A thunderstorm and rainbow looking south toward Yellowstone and Absaroka Mts.
This day was sunny and cold -20c.

Cool air and a gusty wind has left many wondering where the recent spring warmth went.

On a beautiful morning Mt Rainer shown brightly in the morning sun. The picture was taken at sea level on the shore of Puget Sound in Manchester Washington. The height of Mt Rainer is 14,410 feet or 4,392 meters. During the summer over half of the mountain is covered with snow. There are several glaciers on the mountain.

Here is the edge of the cold front coming to SW FL (
Peacefulbon)
We are right under the edge of the cold frong coming through southwest Florida. There was a distinct edge as it passed overhead from the northeast about 5:15 p.m. tonight.
More ice hanging from the guard rails.
First decent shot of these guys that I've gotten. I think they hang out in South FL more than up here.
This snow looks great as it covers nearly every branch. This is about 2 hours from the snow ending.

The first measurable snowfall of the 2005-2006 winter season at the Celery Bog Preserve. Wet snow makes for great contrast against the dark bark of the trees.

This lonely chair watches out to the sunset of Charles River in Watertown - where from the angle of the sun's rays - you could almost sense spring is near.

Each of these is worth a return visit. This time I am especially intrigued by 'laughing shadow' - whether by suggestion or not this seems very clear. So clear, in fact, that I wonder if it is a named shadow in the way that unusual rock formations are often named.
