I'm looking for images of cacti. Send me some!
This is a closeup detail of fairly large plant
Spring has come to the New Mexico desert.
seemed to me these Doves were almost identical to the American Mourning Dove..larger though and more Pigeon-like in their behavior..never saw flocks of them on trees like this at home..and certainly not on huge Cactus saying 'hello' to me!!
Teddy Bear cholla, saguaro and barrel cactus...
A rare sighting of the endangered Mexican, or Red Wolf, in the early morning at Organ Pipe Cactus Monument, AZ. The wind was right so he didn't scent me and I was still trying to get a bird shot. A gift!
This is the cactus / mountain spot I have submitted 3-4 times and gotten AC on 3. I named it after my wife as she spotted the location.
It is taken at 3000 feet near our home and Mt. Wrightson is 9500 feet back in the Santa Rita Mountains. We can drive to 5600 feet to hike / picnic within half hour.
Main reason I posted it is to wish all of you the blessings of all kinds for 2011.
And thanks to WU for making this venue available to all of us. And thanks to the people here who are so responsive and just good people.
