Welcome to my wunderground blog, where, in the coming months I'll be sharing photo, video, and blog updates and forecasting and analysis from the 2013 Severe Storm and Tropical Atlantic season.

Updates will be posted as warranted for north Texas winter weather, (should winter ever actually arrive!) and more often as we ease into the 2013 chase season beginning in March.

It's my hope that we'll be able to show you some chase photo, video, and narrative in a way that will be educational and fun, while thoroughly capturing the excitement of the chase.

As we get into summer, we'll focus on tropical storms and hurricanes in the Western Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and Gulf of Mexico. During the tropical season, I have an opportunity to exchange thoughts and get input from a few of the best minds in tropical analysis and forecasting, and we'll be blending it all together for you here into something that hopefully makes sense.

For now, westerly winds aloft in the Gulf of Mexico along with dominating high pressure in the Caribbean and Western Atlantic will effectively mean the end of the 2012 tropical storm season.

Until spring, updates will occur on a weekly basis unless conditions warrant.
