By: 0122855600, 4:31 PM GMT on November 26, 2013

A tropical low is expected to move close to Peninsular Malaysia tomorrow and crossing Peninsular malaysia on Thursday with a cold surge behind the tropical low which will make its way towards Peninsular malaysia during the weekend.

The cold surge is expected to persist for about a week. The cold surge will produce heavy rain over the east coast states of Peninsular malaysia and provide relief from the hot weather over Peninsular Malaysia. This afternoon was the hottest afternoon this month and the hottest since October 18 despite the cool morning.

The cold surge will not only affect peninsular malaysia but in fact the whole stretch from Siberia.Hong Kong will see a sudden drop in temperature tommorow and bangkok will see cool temperature possibly staying below 29 Degrees Celsius all day despite the sunny weather after this weekend under the influence of the cold surge.

cold surge dissipates

By: 0122855600, 4:34 PM GMT on November 23, 2013

The weather has turned hotter and brighter in Kuala Lumpur as the tropical cyclone induced cold surge has dissipated as the tropical cyclone moves into the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Currently the tropical cyclone is drawing southeasterly winds over Kuala Lumpur from the inland parts of Peninsular Malaysia which could be reaching 36 Degrees Celsius tomorrow.

The temperature of the inland parts could reach 38 Degrees Celsius on Monday but the southeasterly winds should dissipate by then. The heat in those parts should ease a little bit on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of only 34 Degrees Celsius.

On Monday a cold surge will affect the northern part of the South China Sea but will be struggling to reach Peninsular Malaysia.

The next cold surge is still expected to reach Peninsular Malaysia late next week.

Very heavy rain will occur when the cold surge reaches Kuala Lumpur.

Thunderstorms did not occur in Kuala Lumpur today even with the high temperatures as the hot southeasterly winds were strong enough to prevent the cool and moist sea breeze.

There will be a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the next 3 days.

cold surge affecting Peninsular malaysia to end this weekend

By: 0122855600, 4:37 PM GMT on November 21, 2013

The cold surge currently affecting Peninsular Malaysia will end this weekend as the low pressure area currently over northern peninsular malaysia moves out into the Indian Ocean becoming a tropical cyclone over the next few days.

The weather over Peninsular Malaysia is expected to become warmer and brighter after the cold surge from Siberia dissipates.

Thunderstorms are also expected to return to Kuala Lumpur when the cold surge dissipates as the air becomes warmer.

The states of Kelantan and Terenganu is also expected to experience much drier and warmer weather conditions after the cold surge dissipates.

This tropical cyclone is expected to cause flooding over northeastern india.

Another cold surge is likely to reach Peninsular Malaysia late next week.

I will continue to monitor this situation closely.

Heavy rain from a low pressure system hit the states of Kelantan and Terrenganu today but the rain was not as heavy as predicted. This wet weather in those states is expected to continue until the weekend.

Despite the previous forecasts that the low pressure system will pass Peninsular Malaysia it will instead move northwards first and pass over Southern Thailand instead before becoming a tropical cyclone in the Indian Ocean.

Neverthless, rain is still possible in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday morning.

By: 0122855600, 4:20 PM GMT on November 18, 2013

Heavy rain and strong winds associated with a low pressure system over the Gulf of Thailand and the south china sea will hit the states of Kelantan and Terrenganu from tomorrow till Thursday.

Most of the rain associated with the low pressure system will occur near the coast of the states of Kelantan and Terranganu and especially near the coast of Kota Bharu on Tuesday(tomorrow) and Wednesday before extending to the inland areas of Kelantan and Terrenganu late on Wednesday then extending further into the northwestern stated of Peninsular Malaysia before extending further into Kuala Lumpur on Thursday morning.

This condition is likely to lead to flooding over the states of Kelantan and Terrenganu.

The low pressure system will then proceed into the straits of Melaka and eventually info the indian ocean where it will become a tropical cyclone.
