Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:06 PM AKDT on May 27, 2012

... Small stream Flood Advisory in effect from 456 PM akdt to 500 am
akdt Monday for Steese Highway from milepost 80 to mile Post 112...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for streams crossing the Steese
Highway from milepost 80 to mile Post 112 including Eagle and 12
mile summits

* until 500 am akdt Monday

* weather radar has shown heavy rainfall today along the Steese
Highway from milepost 80 to milepost 112. Up to one inch of rain has
fallen today in this area and more heavy rain is expected through
this evening.

* This could cause small streams crossing the Steese Highway to
flood and cause washouts to occur along the Highway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely or the Road way may be softened and give way under the weight
of a vehicle.
