1891 -- 125 years ago: Walter L. Black, of Hampton, has accepted a position as night clerk at the Rock Island House.
1916 -- 100 years ago: William Shean, a teamster, was injured when he fell from his wagon at 20th Street and 8th Avenue last night.
1941 -- 75 years ago: A new warehouse is being built by S.J. Groves & Sons Co., Minneapolis, Minn., at Rock Island Arsenal.
