* At 2:00 PM Sunday the stage was 13.9 feet... and rising.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage Monday morning and continue
rising to 16.4 feet Tuesday. Fall below flood stage
Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 16.5 feet, water affects Credit Island Lane in
Davenport and the 4700 block of River Drive in Moline. Water is at
the base of the flood wall gates at the downtown Rock Island
riverfront.

* At 2:30 PM Sunday the stage was 14.0 feet, and rising.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity... the river has been rising rapidly.
* Forecast... rise to 16.4 feet Tuesday morning, then begin falling.
* Impact... at 15.5 feet water affects the intersection of highways
150 and 6. Steel dam is under water in Milan.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Rock River near Joslin.
* Until further notice.
* At 2:45 PM Sunday the stage was 16.6 feet, and rising.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Recent activity... the river has been rising rapidly and rose above
major flood stage early Sunday afternoon.
* Forecast... rise to 18.6 feet Monday evening... then begin falling.
* Impact... at 18.5 feet water affects the lowest sections of
Moline Road east of Erie, as well as River Road.

Lowell Campbell, pastor of the Milan Presbyterian Church, led the members of the congregation in a ground-breaking ceremony yesterday at the site of the new church one mile south of Andalusia Road on U.S. 67. The building will cost $285,000 and will be completed next fall.
1991 -- 25 years ago: Construction of a 200-room, $13.5 million hotel on the east end of the Moline civic center site will begin next spring, according to an agreement that was to be considered this morning by the Quad City Civic Center Authority.
