Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters
A weak to moderate east to northeast flow is expected through the weekend. Gustav is forecast to enter the southeast Gulf of Mexico on Sunday morning and make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast by Tuesday. Winds will respond by becoming offshore by Monday. The main concern for mariners is expected to be large swells from Gustav. These swells are expected to reach the middle Texas coastal waters by Monday. Mariners should closely monitor the track forecasts of Gustav from the National Hurricane Center.
