marine forecasts for the Great Lakes and the Ontario portion of the
St. Lawrence River issued by Environment Canada at 6:30 p.M. EDT
Sunday 12 October 2008 for tonight and Monday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 3:00 a.M. Monday.
Fog implies visibility less than 1 mile.
Winds are for mid lake. Nearshore winds may vary considerably due to
shoreline effects.
Note..the small craft warning program is active from may 01 to
October 31.
Western Lake Superior.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind southeast 15 knots veering to south 15 near midnight then to
southwest 20 near noon Monday. Wind veering to northwest 20 Monday
evening. Chance of showers this evening and Monday afternoon and
evening with risk of thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.
Eastern Lake Superior.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind south 15 knots increasing to 20 near noon Monday then becoming
northwest 20 Monday evening. A few showers beginning Monday evening
with a risk of thunderstorms.
Whitefish Bay.
Wind southeast 10 knots veering to south 10 near midnight then
increasing to 15 early Monday morning.
Lake Huron.
Wind south 10 knots increasing to southwest 15 near noon Monday.
Georgian Bay.
Wind south 10 knots veering to southwest 10 Monday morning.
Lake St. Clair.
Wind light becoming south 10 knots Monday morning then veering to
southwest 10 Monday afternoon. Fog patches forming late overnight
and dissipating Monday morning.
Lake Erie.
Wind light becoming southwest 10 knots Monday morning. Fog patches
forming late overnight and dissipating Monday morning.
Western Lake Ontario.
Wind light becoming west 10 knots near noon Monday. Fog patches
dissipating Monday morning.
Eastern Lake Ontario.
Wind east 10 knots diminishing to light this evening and becoming
west 10 Monday evening.
Kingston to Cornwall.
Wind light becoming southwest 10 knots Monday evening.
