The combination of strong high pressure over New England...and low pressure along the North Carolina coast will produce heavy rainfall with strong and persistent northeasterly winds. These two systems will be slow to move...allowing the strong northeasterly flow to persist into Friday. The two weather systems will finally exit the region late on Saturday...with high pressure from the west building into the area by Sunday.
