For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on extremely dangerous Hurricane Ike...located very near Great Inagua Island.

The National Hurricane Center has issued the last advisory on Tropical Storm Hanna...located about 100 miles north of Chatham Massachusetts. Future information on this system can be found in the high seas forecasts issued by the ocean prediction center in Washington DC.

Shower activity has increased this morning in association with the remnants of Josephine...located about 1050 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands. This system will be closely monitored for signs of regeneration.

Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.
