Winter Weather Advisory Statement as of 3:39 PM MST on November 14, 2009
... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
5 am MST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
from midnight tonight to 5 am MST Monday. The Winter Storm Watch
is no longer in effect.

A strong cold front will plunge through northeast New Mexico
Sunday morning. Gusty winds... cooler temperatures and snow will
accompany the front. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches
are likely across the far northeast Highlands and Union County.
Meanwhile... total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with locally
higher amounts are likely across the Raton ridge and Johnson
Mesa.

Northerly winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph will occur
along and behind the front. This will create dangerous driving
conditions due to limited visibilities in blowing snow. This
includes the Interstate 25 corridor between the Colorado border
and Wagon Mound as well as Highway 64 and 87 from Raton to
Clayton.

Snow showers are expected to taper off early Monday morning to
ease these hazardous winter weather conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.
