Fire Weather Warning


... Red flag warning in effect from noon Thursday to midnight MDT
Friday night for wind and low relative humidity for fire weather
zones 488 and 489 below 8000 feet...

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a red
flag warning below 8000 feet for wind and low relative humidity,
which is in effect from noon Thursday to midnight MDT Friday
night.

* Affected area... fire weather zone 488 Manti National Forest
below 8000 feet and fire weather zone 489 San Rafael Swell
below 8000 feet.

* Winds... southwest gusts around 25 mph Thursday, becoming
northwest Thursday night and Friday.

* Relative humidity... 4 to 9 percent Thursday afternoon, 6 to 11
percent Friday afternoon.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will have the potential to
spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Isolated
thunderstorms are also possible Thursday afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
