Areal Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has extended the

* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
snowmelt in...
Broadwater County in southwestern Montana...

* until 1215 PM MDT Monday

* at 752 PM MDT, emergency management reported that minor flooding
continued at lower elevations in Broadwater County.

* This is due to snowmelt and recent rainfall being forced onto the
Road by clogged ditches and culverts. Standing water will also
persist in many fields and low lying areas. Many County roads have
been damaged by flood-waters, making some impassable due to wash-
outs, rutting, and soggy Road surfaces.

* Increasing rain and snow showers over the weekend will likely
continue the threat for additional flooding and/or Road damage.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include, Townsend,
Toston, silos, Winston, Radersburg and Goose Bay.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
