6 am CST Sunday...
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 4 PM this
afternoon to 6 am CST Sunday.
* Timing... precipitation chances will increase from late this
morning through the afternoon hours... with snow perhaps mixed
with some sleet likely by sunset. The precipitation will
transition completely to snow in the early evening hours.
Accumulating snow should end before dawn.
* Total snow and ice accumulations... snow accumulations of 2 to 4
inches should be common... with some locally higher amounts.
* Winds... northeast winds around 10 mph today will become
northwest to 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph tonight.
* Impacts... travel could be difficult on untreated roads.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
