Some flooding of roads... creeks and streams is expected to continue
this afternoon due to the heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm
Hanna. All rain over central North Carolina is expected to end
during the early afternoon. However with water levels high in creeks
and streams... and ground saturated... any current flood waters will
be slow to recede. Residents and motorists should continue to be on
the alert for possible flood waters during the afternoon.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

During heavy rain events... severe urban flooding can occur in areas
such as underpasses... and low areas where water tends to collect. Do
not let your children play near small streams or flooded drainage
ditches and storm sewers.
