The river will fall below flood stage by Monday morning. * Impact... at 16.0 feet... homes along Highland Road and Burbank drive will be flooded. Both streets will be impassable. Major roads will be impassable. Access to property along the river is cut off. Homes along kendalwood Road that are not elevated will be flooded. Extensive backwater flooding will occur along Bayou Fountain and bayou Manchac. 934 PM CDT Thu Sep 04 2008 The Flood Warning continues for the Amite river at Denham Springs. * Until Saturday evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 36.0 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 29.0 feet. * Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 36.2 feet by tomorrow morning. The river will then fall below flood stage Saturday afternoon. * Impact... at 35.0 feet... there will be moderate flooding of areas around Clay cut bayou... Jones Creek... and honey cut bayou. In Denham Springs the area west of Florida Avenue will be subject to flooding. 934 PM CDT Thu Sep 04 2008 The Flood Warning continues for the Comite river at Comite joor Rd. * Until Friday morning... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 24.9 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 20.0 feet. * Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below flood stage by early tomorrow. * Impact... at 25.0 feet... subdivisions between the Comite river and Beaver bayou will have moderate flooding. High water will prevent recreational and Industrial activity from Louisiana Highway 64 downstream to the Amite River Junction. Farm animals and equipment should be moved to higher ground
