... Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon PDT today... A Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon PDT today. Santa Ana winds will continue through noon. Winds will gradually decrease this afternoon. Expect areas of northeast winds from 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts to 45 mph... especially near the foothills. The winds will make driving difficult... especially for motorists with high profile vehicles. Watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.  Fire Weather Warning
... Red flag warning now in effect until 10 PM PDT Wednesday... The red flag warning is now in effect until 10 PM PDT Wednesday. The Santa Ana will continue to cause strong winds... low relative humidity... and explosive fire growth potential today. Most winds will be northeast 15 to 30 mph with occasional local gusts to 40 mph. Stronger gusts to 60 mph will occur below the Cajon Pass in the inland Empire... and through and below the canyons of the Santa Ana Mountains. Winds will decrease late this afternoon as pressure gradients relax from 12 mb to 6 mb. Most humidities will be below 10 percent throughout the day with minor recovery tonight. Weaker offshore flow is expected Wednesday with winds decreasing to 10 to 20 mph with local gusts to 40 mph. However... humidity will remain very low. Also... hot daytime temperatures will create strong thermal mixing and the potential for plume dominated fires. For these reasons the red flag warning extends through Wednesday. Warm... dry... locally breezy conditions are expected Thursday and Friday but red flag conditions are not expected at this time. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential. Wind Advisory in effect until noon PDT today...
