A powerful upper level storm system will move across the region and bring snow to the area tonight. Snowfall accumulations across the advisory area are expected to average an inch... but isolated higher amounts are possible especially along the Red River. In addition to the snow... strong winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph are likely today and tonight... which may result in periods of blowing snow and reduced visibilities.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of winter precipitation may cause travel difficulties. While Road surfaces will likely be too warm to collect snowfall... visibilities may be reduced to less than 1/2 mile at times. Use caution if traveling.

Strong north and northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph can be expected this afternoon through mid evening. The strong northwest winds are likely to persist overnight and strengthen again on Sunday.
