Nowcast | as of 10:34 am EDT on July 31, 2015

Ongoing storms along the west Florida coast have pushed out a strong outflow boundary that is quickly moving eastwards across the peninsula. This boundary is expected to reach into Lake County and the western areas of the Orlando Metro around midday with showers and storms developing along and just ahead of it. With a warm and very moist atmosphere still in place across the region...additional shower and storm development will occur across the remainder of the region. Coverage of showers and storms will increase throughout the afternoon with additional boundary collisions. Stronger storms today...especially those developing with boundary collisions and along outflows...will be capable of producing wind gusts to 50 mph. Storms will generally move off to the east-northeast at 15 to 20 mph. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible...especially along the coast...leading to standing water and minor flooding of poor drainage areas.
