Strong southwest winds of 35 to 45 mph were blowing over much of
Carbon County in south central Wyoming this morning.
At 826 am MDT... localized gusts near 66 mph were reported according
to sensors near Arlington along Interstate 80 mile marker 272.
The strong winds will persist through most of this morning before
decreasing by midday and early afternoon as low and mid level winds
decrease in speed and surface pressure gradients relax.
Travelers... especially those with high profile vehicles... in south
central Wyoming today should be ready for strong southwest winds and
localized strong gusts near Arlington along Interstate 80.
Remember... sudden gusts can cause temporary loss of your vehicle
control. Keep a firm grip on your steering wheel with both hands to
avoid losing control of your vehicle.
