Statement as of 8:27 PM MST on November 11, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST Thursday... A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST Thursday. Areas of light snow across the park this evening will increase in coverage and intensity overnight. The snow may become heavy at times on Thursday as the cold front moves into the area. Total storm accumulations will vary from 3 to 4 inches around Mammoth with 6 to 12 inches expected elsewhere. Slightly higher amounts are possible on southwest facing slopes. Backcountry travelers should be prepared for snow... sharply reduced visibilities and gusty southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph over exposed locations in the mountains. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

Statement as of 05:29 PM MST on November 11, 2009 ... Record high temperature set at Rock Springs WY... a record high temperature of 61 degrees was set at Rock Springs WY today. This breaks the old record of 60 set in 1989.
