Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 4:14 PM MDT on May 26, 2015

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 230 PM MDT Thursday for
southeastern Sheridan County...

Significant flooding is expected all along the Powder River in
southeastern Sheridan County through Thursday. The river level at
Arvada as of Tuesday afternoon was near 7.0 feet. The river is
expected to crest between 11 and 13 feet by midday on Wednesday...
which will be the highest that the river has been in many years.
However... there is some uncertainty in exactly how high the river
will get as some water may have left the river channel upstream of
Sheridan County.

Even though there is some uncertainty in what the peak river level
will be... you should still expect the river to spill out of its
banks in places... flooding farmland and possibly causing property
damage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move cattle and farm equipment to higher ground immediately. Prepare
for rapidly rising water and flooding near the Powder River. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
