Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 12:00 PM MDT on June 03, 2015

... Flood Watch in effect from 7 PM MDT this evening through
Friday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a

* Flood Watch for Sheridan County.

* From 7 PM MDT this evening through Friday afternoon.

* A period of moderate to heavy rainfall will impact the Bighorn
Mountains and their eastern foothills tonight... with
precipitation amounts of a half inch to inch expected. This will
cause streams to rise over the next two days... including the
little and big goose creeks in and around Sheridan. Minor
flooding is anticipated.

* In addition... Sheridan County officials indicate that water will
soon begin to be released from Park Reservoir west of story.
This will cause increased flows along big Goose Creek from the
Reservoir to Sheridan... including at canyon and Beaver Creek.

* People living in low-lying areas prone to experience flooding
should prepare for increased water levels through Friday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
