Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 8:54 AM MDT on May 24, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through this evening...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of south central
Wyoming... including the following area... East Sweetwater
County.

* Through this evening

* saturated to near saturated soils from recent rainfall will
combine with areas of potential heavy rain across eastern
Sweetwater County through this evening. The threat of flash
flooding will be along small streams and irrigation canals. A
strong Spring storm will produce conditions favorable for
prolonged heavy rain with rainfall rates of an inch to an inch
and a half an hour with total rainfall of 2 to 4 inches
possible.

* Flooding of roads at night pose a significant threat to
motorists. Do not attempt to drive through flood waters as the
Road may be washed out. Turn around... do not drown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
