Special Statement
Statement as of 2:49 PM MDT on March 27, 2015

... Gusty wind and unseasonably warm temperatures for Saturday...

A cold front will push across the Big Horn basin Saturday afternoon
and evening causing a noticeable increase in wind speed and a change
in the wind direction. Southwest wind of 15 to 25 mph will switch to
the northwest during the late afternoon as the cold front sweeps
across Big Horn and Washakie counties. Northwest wind behind the cold
front will be 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

The wind will also boost high temperatures into the lower to mid 70s
Saturday. The combination of the unseasonably warm temperatures and
gusty wind will create elevated fire concerns. Therefore... residents
are advised not to conduct any agricultural burning on Saturday. Any
fire could rapidly spread through fine fuels such as grasses and
small vegetation.
