Statement as of 04:31 am MDT on July 04, 2009 ... Record daily maximum precipitation set at Casper and Rock Springs WY... A record rainfall of 1.61 inches was set at Casper WY today. This breaks the old record of 0.37 inches set in 1975. A record rainfall of 0.23 inches was set at Rock Springs WY today. This breaks the old record of 0.18 inches set in 1960.

The phone systems into the National Weather Service office in Riverton are currently out of order. It is hoped this problem will be corrected soon.
