... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM MST Thursday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM MST Thursday.
Snow will increase in coverage through this evening and continue overnight. The snow may become heavy at times on Thursday as the cold front moves into the area. Total storm accumulations will vary from 3 to 4 inches around Mammoth with 6 to 12 inches expected elsewhere. Slightly higher amounts are possible in The Tetons and southwest facing slopes in Yellowstone National Park. Travel over Teton Pass will likely become hampered by Thursday morning due to snow covered roads... sharply reduced visibility and gusty southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
