Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 12:23 PM MDT on June 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in riw/Riverton has issued a

* Flood Warning for small streams for...
snowmelt in...
west central Big Horn County in central Wyoming...

* until noon MDT Wednesday

* at 1204 PM MDT... local law enforcement reported flooding along
the Greybull river near Greybull.

Low land flooding from backwater is occurring where the Greybull
river meets the Big Horn river. Several homes and structures are in
danger of flood damage as a levee along the Greybull river is
beginning to fail with water overtopping the levee. Sand bagging
has been ongoing to divert the water away from the homes and
structures.

Active snowmelt along the upper Greybull river is expected slow down
in the next 24 hours in response to cooler basin temperatures. Rain
showers are expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning along the
Greybull river basin, which may cause further rises along the
Greybull river Thursday through Friday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
