Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 3:40 AM MST on March 02, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MST
Tuesday...

* timing... snow will increase in coverage and intensity today and
continue through Tuesday. The heaviest snow will fall from late
tonight through early Tuesday morning.

* Total snow accumulations... up to 2 feet in the snowy and Sierra
Madre mountain ranges with locally higher amounts possible. 6 to
12 inches will fall in the adjacent valleys.

* Winds/visibility... becoming north 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35
mph late tonight. The combination of falling and blowing snow
will reduce visibilities to less than a half mile at times.

* Impacts... travel will become extremely dangerous or impossible
by late tonight. Visibilities may be significantly reduced with
blowing and drifting snow likely. Roadways will likely become
slick and snow covered. Road closures are also possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Avoid travel in the warning area. If you are planning to travel
in the warning area... listen to the latest weather forecast and
consider traveling at another time or by another Route. If you
must travel in the warning area... use extreme caution when
approaching and driving over Railroad crossings... take along a
winter survival kit. If you become stranded in a rural area...
stay with your vehicle until help arrives. To keep warm in your
vehicle... run your engine 10 minutes each hour... and make sure
the exhaust pipe is clear of snow to avoid Carbon monoxide
poisoning.
