Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 8:54 AM MDT on May 24, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of central Wyoming... including the following areas...
Casper Mountain and Natrona County lower elevations.

* Through this evening

* saturated to near saturated soils from recent rainfall will
combine with areas of potential heavy rain across Natrona County
through this evening. The threat of flash flooding will be along
small streams and irrigation canals in and near the foothills of
Casper Mountain. A strong Spring storm will produce conditions
favorable for prolonged heavy rain with rainfall rates of an
inch to an inch and a half an hour with total rainfall of 2 to
4 inches possible.

* Flooding of roads at night pose a significant threat to
motorists. Do not attempt to drive through flood waters as the
Road may be washed out. Turn around... do not drown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
