Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:38 AM MDT on June 03, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from noon MDT today through this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for the following areas... the Wind River basin
in central Wyoming... the southern Bighorn Basin... the Big Horn
Mountains... Natrona County and Johnson County.

* From noon MDT today through this evening

* strong thunderstorms have the potential for producing
significant rainfall of up to one inch this afternoon and
evening. This rain will fall over already saturated soils.

* Rock or mud slides will be possible in steeply sloped
areas... especially around mountain passes and canyons.

* Small streams already running near bankfull from snowmelt and
past rainfall could experience significant rises and possible
flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
